Showing Out: Contemporary Black Choreographers (Part 2)
January 17, 2020 @ 7:30 pm
An event every day that begins at 7:30 pm, happening 2 times

A mentorship and performance event curated by Dani Tirrell, SHOWING OUT supports the creation and development of work created by Black Choreographers from around the Pacific Northwest — perfectly aligned with CD Forum’s mission to support distinctive Black artistic voices.
These January performances are a follow up to Part 1’s works in progress showings (Nov 2019). After receiving audience feedback, the artists will present new and re-imagined iterations of their work.
“To cheer for amazing Black artists, sharing stories of their Black and queer identities, with dozens of other folks also cheering – it is the sound of white supremacy and anti-Black racism in the arts being dismantled, if only for a night. And it was beautiful.”
– Seattle Dances (from a Review of Showing Out Part 1)
Featured choreographers: Saira Barbaric, Markeith Wiley, Keelan Johnson, Michael O’Neal Jr, Brian J Evans, Kyle Bernbach and Gilbert Small, Neve Kamilah Mazique-Bianco
