DASSdance Presents: Seattle City Nutcracker

Premiered in 2019, Seattle City Nutcracker is an unabashedly contemporary production with a aerial mechanical doll flying above the stage, AI Robots in the battle scene illuminated in black light and an authentic Land of the Sweets that travels across the globe from Ukraine to India, Iceland to African Flowers choreographed by Tyrone Crosby (AKA Koach Giggs) and danced by Kutt’N’Up. Seattle City Nutcracker showcases Wilkins’ athletic All-Terrain melding of jazz, ballet, modern and acrobatics as well as tap and high-flying aerial.

Choreographer and auteur Daniel Wilkins brings his experience of over 20 years of creating critically acclaimed work from NYC at Diane Von Furstenberg-The Theatre & Baryshnikov Arts Center to Seattle where his All 4 1 dancepalooza has celebrated contemporary dance inspiring hundreds of young dancers annually for over a decade to create a new Holiday tradition. Seattle City Nutcracker is a true reflection of local flavor from the perspective of Clara and Maria raised by their uncles the “Dros Bros.” at their Fix-It shop in the Central District. The “neighborhood kids” join the fun as the story unfolds.
