IMPULSE CONTROL

IMPULSE CONTROL is the debut full-length work of WhipLash Dance, created and directed by Tyra Rose. The piece confronts addiction — not as a cautionary tale, but as lived experience — tracing the tension between desire and restraint through visceral, conceptually driven movement.
Over four years and six movement studies, audiences in Seattle have watched this work grow. From eXit SPACE’s takePAUSE, BOOST, and LAUNCH, to the tri-bill CERBERUS, this is where it lands.
With a contemporary dance base, dance theater elements, and a splash of camp, IMPULSE CONTROL opens the door to harder conversations about addiction, struggle, and what it means to be human together.
