La Velada: An Alchemy of Past and Present

Flamenco tradition and contemporary expression meet in a performance shaped by memory, inheritance, and personal interpretation.

Spain Flamenco Arts presents: La Velada: An Alchemy of Past and Present

Created and performed by Marta Gálvez, La Velada reflects on the legacy of flamenco and the artists who have carried the art form across generations. The work transforms inherited movement, rhythm, and memory into a contemporary language that is deeply rooted in flamenco tradition while speaking with a distinctly modern voice.

Selected by Spain Flamenco Arts for its 2026 U.S. tour, La Velada showcases a cast of acclaimed artists from Spain:

o Director & Dancer: Marta Gálvez
o Singer: Rosa Linero
o Guitar: David Durán
o Percussion: Luis Dorado

This performance is made possible thanks to the support of Luis Fernando Esteban (former Honorary Consul of Spain in Washington and Oregon and of Semilla Flamenca).
