Starring Cherdonna Shinatra, Martha Graham Cracker, and Jarbeaux, Threesome uses pleasure, punk rock, and spectacle to marvel and laugh at the inner workings of humanness.

Thursday, April 18 at 7 PM | Friday, April 19 at 7 PM | Saturday, April 20 at 7 PM | Thursday, April 25 at 7 PM | Friday, April 26 at 7 PM | Saturday, April 27 at 7 PM

Threesome will be performed at Repair Revolution in SoDo.

Threesome’s mission is to break down the fear-based human response called anxiety. It’s old, it’s dangerous, and it often gets screwed up. In this performance, our personas each take on a role: Cherdonna as the responsive bottom brain, Martha as the perceiving middle brain, and Jarbeaux as the thinking and decision-making top brain. Threesome uses pleasure, punk rock, and spectacle to seduce and challenge audiences (not to mention devastating torch songs, whispered side conversations, indulgent cry-gasms, and tiny monkey wrenches as well). It’s hard to be a human in this volatile world we’ve made, and Threesome aims to marvel and laugh at the inner workings of humanness.

Jody Kuehner aka Cherdonna Shinatra uses dance, drag, theater, comedy, camp, pop culture, feminist traditions, absurdity and subversive commentary to make art. Kuehner is a 2020 NEFA’s NDP finalist, 2017 Artist Trust Fellowship recipient, 2016 NEFA’s NDP awardee, and 2015 Stranger Genius Award winner. She has toured nationally to USF (FL), The Meanings and Makings of Queer Dance Conference (MI), The Yard (MV), American Dance Festival (NC), and FringeArts (PA), Sarasota Art Museum (FL). Her work has been featured in ARTnews, i-D Magazine, and NBC 12 must-see LGBTQ+ art shows around the world.

Martha Graham Cracker, the tallest, hairiest drag queen in the world, is the alter-ego of Dito van Reigersberg. She performs regularly at Joe’s Pub and has also appeared at Union Transfer, Oberon, Philadelphia’s City Hall, and The Guthrie Theater. Dito is a co-founder of Pig Iron Theatre Company. Dito has performed in almost all of Pig Iron’s productions since its founding, including the OBIE-winning original pieces Hell Meets Henry Halfway and Chekhov Lizardbrain.

Jarbeaux or John Jarboe(she/her) is a director, singer, writer, and host serving you revolution, herstory, queer community making, and a whole lot of glitter. She is the founding artistic director of The Bearded Ladies Cabaret and has made original work for La Mama ETC, Joe’s Pub, Opera Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Wilma Theater, and most recently, Rose You Are Who You Eat for The Guggenheim’s Works & Process.
