SUMMARY:Aubra and Evelyn: Current Bodies
DESCRIPTION:Current Bodies is a dance installation that melds visual art\, poetry\, and contemporary dance. The performance begins as an interactive installation: suspended fabrics featuring original paintings and poetry inspired by water create a layered landscape that audience members are encouraged to explore before the dancing begins. As the performance unfolds\, these fabrics transform into a dynamic\, ever-changing set for the dancers to move through. The choreography reflects water as both an intimate human metaphor and a powerful geologic force–shaping landscapes\, carrying stories\, and connecting lives across time. \nRun time: Approximately 45 minutes (including installation exploration and dance performance)

SUMMARY:SFD+I: BRKFST
DESCRIPTION:for now\, but not for long investigates the restoration and habitat complexity of the once contaminated\, post-industrial landscape of Olympic Sculpture Park. This work explores how our individual lives are woven into and affected by reinvention\, and it will highlight the diverse landscape by using moving bodies as sculptural entities. Regeneration\, decay\, attraction\, and repulsion will emerge through sustained duration\, partnering\, and non-codified movement\, guiding audiences through the meadows and groves native to the Pacific Northwest. Subtle sounds of the natural environment in combination with a set score will emphasize the ever-changing ecosystem using the human body as a visual guide. \nPresented through the Seattle Festival of Dance + Improvisation \nIn partnership with Seattle Art Museum\nFeaturing participants in the Seattle Festival of Dance + Improvisation Professional Performance Cohort \n

SUMMARY:IMPULSE CONTROL
DESCRIPTION:IMPULSE CONTROL is the debut full-length work of WhipLash Dance\, created and directed by Tyra Rose. The piece confronts addiction — not as a cautionary tale\, but as lived experience — tracing the tension between desire and restraint through visceral\, conceptually driven movement.\nOver four years and six movement studies\, audiences in Seattle have watched this work grow. From eXit SPACE’s takePAUSE\, BOOST\, and LAUNCH\, to the tri-bill CERBERUS\, this is where it lands.\nWith a contemporary dance base\, dance theater elements\, and a splash of camp\, IMPULSE CONTROL opens the door to harder conversations about addiction\, struggle\, and what it means to be human together.\nIMPULSE CONTROL runs June 24\, 25\, and 27\, 2026 at the Erickson Theater in Seattle.

SUMMARY:If I Fits I Strips
DESCRIPTION:If I Fits I Strips\nAll cat-themed burlesque!\n\nCats. Tiny obligate carnivores that live in our houses\, shed on our clothes\, and go mrrp when you touch them unexpectedly. What’s not to love? Unnatural Redhead Productions and the Stay Up Late Show have teamed up to bring you a burlesque celebration of the feline in every form\, whether that’s pop-culture cat characters or an act literally as one cast member’s specific cat. (No\, really!) Like the song says: Everybody wants to be a cat\, and our cast of cool kitties will prance\, pounce\, and strut their stuff for you live onstage at If I Fits I Strips! \nFeaturing burlesque performances by: \nScarlett Folds\nSin de la Rosa\nCarson St. Clair\nLavish the Jewel\nRebekkah Biscuits\nScarlett O’Hairdye\nand Ruby Mimosa \nHosted by the purrfect Sailor St. Claire! \nIf I Fits I Strips is produced in association with the Stay Up Late Show and Shunpike. \n\nPlease Note: All Unnatural Redhead Productions are mask-mandatory for the safety of our performers and audience. Bring a mask and be prepared to wear it when not actively eating or drinking. \nThe Thelma Dewitty Theater does not have a built-in bar\, so we’re able to produce an 18+ show! There will be snacks and soft drinks available for sale\, but if you would like an adult beverage before the show\, we suggest visiting one of the many fine establishments nearby on Delridge or up at the California Junction.
