Young Choreographer’s Club
Register today for the Young Choreographer’s Club, an 8-week dance-making workshop for dancers and young choreographers ages 14-24. This program is led by Moonyeka alongside a rotating faculty of Seattle artists, including Nia-Amina Minor + Akoiya Harris, Imani Sims, Jessica Jones + more.
During the program, you’ll dive into a range of topics, including starting your creative process, group ensemble work, writing to move, moving to write, improvisational scores and feedback, relating to music and sound, and lighting and tech skill building. As you progress through the program, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your new skills by creating your own collaborative dances within your cohort. The YCC culminates in a showing for friends and family in a professional theater.
Whether you’re just starting out or you’re a seasoned dancer looking to take your choreography skills to the next level, the YCC will connect to artist mentors in the Seattle community and help you grow your dance-making skills in a professional environment!
