SUMMARY:WAKE
DESCRIPTION:Come WAKE with us. \nVerbooom Collective brings you a new dreamtheatre experience where story meets movement\, memory meets magic\, and every performance ends differently—just like life. \nWAKE is an emergent ritual at the threshold between life and death – but unlike many Western rites\, it explodes into joy. When you step inside\, you become part of a remembrance — surrounded by movement and sound\, in the middle of an unfolding story. \nWhat happens when we accept the simple fact that we’re going to die? Would we make different choices? \nCreated by a multidisciplinary team — writer\, actor\, dancer – we use movement for what words can’t hold\, and text when movement is imprecise. \nWe’ll see you between worlds.

SUMMARY:ingracious windpipes
DESCRIPTION:Book Launch Event: poetry reading\, dance installations\, handmade books \nC. Asa Call presents a chapbook launch of their third self-published collection of poems ingracious windpipes: A Symposium for Ghosts Still Forced to Make a Living. The event will include a reading from the chapbook\, which has been hand-crafted as a small edition run\, and installation-based performances exploring central themes from the collection. The evening’s offerings are considered by Call as studies and offshoots of a larger dance work in progress called Impossible Maps\, to premiere possibly in 2025. \nWith dancers Sara Caplan\, Rainbow Fletcher\, Nicole Flores\, Madeleine Gregor\, and Shayley Timm. \nAbout the Book \nBiting\, seething\, morose\, and sometimes manic tones emerge from a diverse group of characters in this new collection of poems. An owner of a truckstop diner in Tennessee\, a knight who duels the Jabberwocky\, an Odysseus-like sailor caught up by a siren\, an old woman who wears chainmail under her bathrobe. These characters are stubborn\, often grieving\, and full of grudges\, but also surprisingly playful\, revealing an absurd sense that kindness and tenderness can only dazzle through most genuinely when the blunt vents of our inner dialogue are opened wide. \nBio \nC. Asa Call is an assemblage artist making work for 20+ years at the cross-section of poetry\, visual art\, film\, and dance. They were a Co-founder and Co-artistic Director of Coriolis Dance for 14 years. Their previous poetry collections The Mountain? The Mountain. and cede the crown palaver (failed attempts false starts\, and a sincere apology were self-published releases. Call currently owns and operates The Shed\, a multi-use art and movement space in Georgetown of Seattle\, WA.
