SUMMARY:Land of the Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker
DESCRIPTION:Land Of The Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker storms back to Triple Door for its dazzling 20th anniversary season—where the Tchaikovsky classic melds with jazz-age sizzle in Seattle’s most sophisticated theatrical revue. \nForget everything you think you know about cabaret. Land Of The Sweets brings together an extraordinary artistic team under the direction of locally beloved\, internationally celebrated Lily Verlaine. Musical mastermind Jasper McCann creates original songs and script\, Kate Olson leads a swinging nine-piece orchestra\, and the ensemble features world-class dancers from premier companies\, virtuoso musicians who contract with Seattle Opera and Symphony\, plus costume designers from Pacific Northwest Ballet and Teatro Zinzanni. The payoff? A breathtaking spectacle that’s enamored critics (“The Best Burlesque In Western Washington”) and claimed trophies at Las Vegas’ legendary Burlesque Hall of Fame. \nWhen the snow flies and the spirits soar: A blizzard sends the denizens from the Lands of Tea\, Chocolate\, and Coffee to seek warmth at Charles Drosselmingus’ legendary holiday afterparty\, where Tchaikovsky’s melodies get the full jazz treatment\, McCann’s original songs drip with golden-age Hollywood glamour\, and the night explodes with aerial magic on a floating harp\, wickedly clever tap and ballet\, and variety acts that cheekily reinvent—and flawlessly execute—the traditional ballet’s most iconic moments. \nBroadway-caliber costumes. Original compositions and unforgettable musicality.  Choreography that fuses classical precision with vintage American verve. This is theatrical artistry designed to seduce your senses and leave you breathless. \n25 performances. 20 years of pure magic. Your seat awaits.

SUMMARY:Seattle Vice '76
DESCRIPTION:A wild and lively cabaret about Seattle’s seedy past. Live music\, Broadway musical style dancing\, aerial acts\, pole dancing\, burlesque. \nSeattle Vice ’76: The Saga of Sin \nInspired by journalist Rick Anderson’s Seattle Vice\, this new musical peels back the glittery curtain on 1970s sex\, politics\, and power in the Emerald City. \nFrom the smoky VIP booths of Lake City Way to the neon-lit corners of Pioneer Square\, Seattle Vice ‘76 resurrects the scandalous true story of Seattle’s infamous “Stripper King” Frank Colacurcio – and the tunes and politics that defined the era. \nFrom the creators of the popular Bohemia comes a scandalous ride through the strip clubs of 1970s Seattle. This world-premiere musical from cabaret powerhouses Opal Peachey and Mark Siano draws inspiration from the celebrated book Seattle Vice by Rick Anderson\, and creates a dynamic and action packed follow-up to their breakout hit from last decade. \n“Rick Anderson came to see Seattle Vice live at ACT Theater in 2014\, the first version that we set in 1965\, and he absolutely loved it\,” says creator Mark Siano (A Very Die Hard Christmas\, Titanish). “He sadly passed away a few years back\, so now we’re taking the chapters of the book we didn’t touch and making a new show around them. SUMMARY:Bohemia
DESCRIPTION:The award winning smash hit Bohemia from critically acclaimed artists Opal Peachey and Mark Siano returns to the Triple Door this January. After blowing audiences away with their sell-out success Seattle Vice\, their latest musical Bohemia is a freewheeling cabaret about love\, classical music\, art nouveau\, green fairies and absinthe. Set in 1890s Prague\, Bohemia combines the music of Dvořák and Chopin\, with art by Alphonse Mucha. Historic artists like Sarah Bernhardt and George Sand\, interweave with beautiful green fairies\, aerial numbers\, dance\, burlesque\, classical piano battles\, comedy\, and original songs. \nThe story centers around famous Czech composer Antonin Dvořák who has hit a wall and prior to composing his magnum opus\, so he looks to the bottom of a bottle of absinthe for inspiration. In this macabre and mystical dream cabaret\, Dvořák is visited by the ghost of late composer Frederick Chopin and a host of green fairies. Chopin and many other famous Bohemians guide Dvořák on the search for true inspiration in the pursuit of artistic immortality.
