Automorphs

Automorphs is an experimental dance performance featuring choreography by Kara Beadle and Andy Zacek.

In this fictional world, the supreme reign of the Automobile has converted the earth into a whizzing tangle of high speed steel and asphalt, subjugating all of its inhabitants to the Laws of the Road. Propped up by a relentless propaganda campaign, this oppressive regime threatens to seize total control of our reality.
Within this roadscape dwells a band of bicycling rebels, unwilling to submit to their combustive overlords. But in this world, one’s defiance becomes what defines them. The unconscious process by which these rebels react to an existentially hostile environment, the twisting adaptations of their psyche, the dysphoric creeping of their identities, and ever-growing quadriceptical girth, all begin to slowly change them into something else, in a process known as automorphosis.
