Back to Source: A transformative portal of sound, movement, and art

After more than a decade behind the scenes in the music industry, multidisciplinary Filipino American artist Michele Wylen returns to the stage with a groundbreaking, genre-defying performance experience that fuses live music, cinematic visuals, and immersive dance. Presented in collaboration with the Seattle International Dance Festival (SIDF), this event marks Wylen’s long-awaited comeback—an experiential journey that transcends the boundaries of a traditional concert. Anchoring the evening’s flow would be roaming, site-specific, and choreographed dance works by Khambatta Dance Company and other leading Seattle-based dance artists. Their presence would transform the venue into a living gallery, where bodies in motion echo the emotional terrain of Wylen’s music and visuals. Together, these artists would create a dynamic interplay of rhythm, space, and story—blurring the lines between audience and performer. The immersive experience would debut Wylen’s arthouse music video, Black Sheep—her most ambitious visual work to date—merging raw autobiographical storytelling with surreal, thought-provoking imagery. This performance is designed not merely to entertain, but to activate: awakening audiences into deeper layers of self- expression, connection, and empowerment.
