Celebrating Hijikata

Join us in our annual celebration of butoh founder Tatsumi Hijikata’s life. Performers include Vanessa Skantze (who organizes events at Teatro de la Psychomachia), Kaoru Okumura (who studied in Tokyo with Motofuji, Hijikata’s wife), Joan Laage/Kogut Butoh (who danced under Ashikawa, Hijikata’s principal protege, in Tokyo) with music by Bill Horist and Aoi Lee.
