Dance With Me: A New Dancical

Imagine a coming-of-age story, a rom-com, and a dance movie—woven together with a dash of fairytale magic. Performing at the historical Theatre Off Jackson from August 1–23, 2025, Dance With Me is a new “dancical” (like a musical but with dancing instead of singing) celebrating family bonds, love connections, and the joy of dance. Co-presented by Dare to Dance Seattle and Theatre Off Jackson, this world premiere features two rotating casts and is appropriate for all ages.

SYNOPSIS: What if everything you thought you knew about your childhood was wrong? Helix needs to return to their childhood home and sort through their late mother’s belongings, right when their dance team is gearing up for a major competition. Torn between the past and the present, Helix embarks on an emotional journey of discovery, healing, and unexpected romance. Watch this intimate story unfold over powerful dance numbers set to a mix of classical pieces and pop hits.
