Kaleidoscope Dance Company’s Gift of Dance

Experience the magic of Seattle’s longest-running modern dance company as Kaleidoscope presents the Gift of Dance, our annual celebration of community during the holiday season! This awe-inspiring repertory company of dancers ages 7 to 17 has dazzled audiences for 44 years as the resident company of the Creative Dance Center. The Gift of Dance concert shares a message of hope and togetherness by embracing the power of youth and dance and uniting us in the human experience of the arts.

This unique concert features choreography by renowned artists along with impressive pieces created by the dancers themselves. Collaborating in multi-age groups they take charge of the creative process, composing work that is deeply personal yet universal in its appeal to audiences of all ages. This year we explore what a color can evoke – the emotions, objects, and sense of place. Witness how these talented dancers translate this idea into mesmerizing movement in a vibrant concert for all ages!

Kaleidoscope is the longest-running modern dance company in Seattle, founded in 1981 by Anne Green Gilbert. The company was directed by Anna Mansbridge from 2014-2023 and is currently directed by Bronwen Gilbert Houck, an alum of the company and daughter of the founder. Kaleidoscope has supported more than 250 young dancers and collaborated with hundreds of professional choreographers over its 44 years history, as well as entertaining audiences across the US and worldwide. Kaleidoscope is based at the Creative Dance Center located in the historic Haller Lake Community Club in North Seattle.
