Kaleidoscope Gift of Dance 2024

Experience the magic of Seattle’s longest-running modern dance company as Kaleidoscope presents the Gift of Dance, our annual celebration of community during the holiday season! This awe-inspiring repertory company of dancers ages 7 to 17 has dazzled audiences for over 40 years as the resident company of the Creative Dance Center. The Gift of Dance concert shares a message of hope and cooperation by embracing the power of youth and dance and uniting us in the very human experience of creating art.

In this unique concert, young dancers collaborating in multi-age groups take charge of the creative process—they organize their groups, choose music, decide on costumes, and choreograph together to compose work that is deeply personal yet universal in its appeal to audiences of all ages. This year dancers took inspiration from images that sparked their imagination, leading to pieces exploring identity, inclusion, togetherness, and love. Witness how they translate meaningful images into mesmerizing movement in a vibrant concert for all ages!

Kaleidoscope is the longest-running modern dance company in Seattle, founded in 1981 by Anne Green Gilbert. The company was directed by Anna Mansbridge from 2014-2023 and is currently directed by Bronwen Gilbert Houck, an alum of the company. Kaleidoscope is based at the Creative Dance Center located in the historic Haller Lake Community Club in North Seattle.
