“The Works2: Reconnected” with the Guild Dance Company

April 26, 2025 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Event Series (See All)

The Works2: Reconnected marks the second iteration of the Guild Dance Company’s celebrated showcase, The Works. This vibrant collection features multidisciplinary dance pieces created by Guild company members, emerging and established choreographers, and guest performers from the wider Seattle dance community. Audiences can expect a diverse range of performances, including Hip Hop, Swing, Ballet, Contemporary, dance film, and more.

This year’s collection centers on the return of the Guild Dance Company to its community as well as the joy of dance, diversity, and storytelling. Highlights include performances by SLOWBURN Dance Company, Swing Dance SCT, Jerboa Dance, captivating dance films by Kelli Carnes, Megan Sellman and Ieva Bračiulytė, plus brand-new company pieces by the Guild’s Director, Alex Ung. Additionally, the event will showcase works by past and present Guild company members and multiple new and emerging choreographers, such as Prasti & Emma Purdum, Shayley Timm and Juliet Waller – all coming together for two nights in April 2025. The performance will take audiences on a journey through themes of identity, community, resilience, and overcoming.

Join us for the Works2: Reconnected on April 25th and 26th at YAW Theater for an enjoyable evening of storytelling and triumph through a shared love of movement. The dynamic collaboration spotlights the artistic excellence of Seattle’s dance scene all while celebrating the community’s spirit and resilience.
