PNB principal Olivier Wevers is busy choreographing down at University of California, Irvine, in the 6th annual National Choreographers Initiative. The three-week program culminates in a public performance on July 25. SeattleDances won’t be there, unfortunately, but we can see a little bit of what he’s working on in the following NCI video.
Other PNB gossip: Kiyon Gaines is teaching and choreographing in Western Washington, Carla Körbes is performing in her native Brazil (many of her extended family haven’t seen her dance since she was a little girl, so they’re in for a treat!), Stacy Lowenberg is getting married, and Lindsi Dec is marrying Karel Cruz.
