Here is the beginning of my post.
And here is the rest of it.
Carla’s note
Hi Rosie:
This is the concert I was telling you about last week. Barefoot is doing an amazing job in Tacoma to provide opportunities to dancers and choreographers to present work. Here is the press release and poster that includes 2 or 3 Seattle choreographers and some Tacoma ones. They have productions or opts every month in a beautiful studio just off the highway.
Thanks for offering to add this in the February listings.
I included two pictures of the work I will present.

The BareFoot Collective presents On the Margins. Featuring dance works by Michael Hoover, Rosa Vissers, André Bouchard, BQdanza, and Serendipity Dance Brigade.
On The Margins is an evening of dance highlighting some of puget sounds most innovative and challenging performance artists. Performances are two nights only, January 30 at 8 pm and January 31 at 5pm located at the Merlino Art Center, Jan Collum Ballroom 508 6th avenue Tacoma, WA 98402.
Michael Hoover, one of the BareFoot Collective’s co-directors, presents a new work focusing on the interconnectedness of people and their relationships to one another. “i’m exploring the strings that connect people”. Michael asks the questions of what is it that binds people “physically, emotionally, and psychically”. Michael’s work tends to be very eye catching, combining his love of visual art and music. The new work will feature music, costumes, and choreography all created by Michael Hoover.
Andre Bouchard is premiering a new “heart felt solo” that he has been working on in-between his busy schedule of running the black box theater at Edmonds Community College. Andre has performed and shown dance with the BareFoot Collective for over 5 years, his work combines the everyday with the absurd. Definitely a talent not to be missed.
Rosa Vissers will be showing a work with working title of Dance With Carrot. Rosa’s work is tumultuous and tempestuous, it defies conformity and challenges the definition of what dance can be.
Other works will be performed by BQdanza and Serendipity Dance Brigade. Both groups are showing sections from longer works. BQdanza under the leadership of Carla Barragan will be combining dance and video, from a Ecuadorian visual artist, to create a beautiful and enriching visual treat. The full piece was listed in the News Tribune as one of Tacoma’s Best art of 2007. Serendipity Dance Brigade guided by artistic director Sarah Adamski will be showing parts of their full evening work Fastened Corpse. Sarah’s work combines “extraterrestrial couture and contemporary dance,” the grotesque with the beautiful, it’s a dichotomy for the senses.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see some of Puget Sounds most innovative and contemporary performance experiences. it represents the BareFoot Collectives mission to share unique performance and high quality work.
